Vision

Roca’s vision is young people thriving and leading change. Roca is a deeply hopeful and positive place. We believe that everyone can grow, learn, change, and succeed. Through our work with transformational relationships, transitional employment, alternative education, engaged institutions, and peacemaking circles, Roca is doing work that is leading and changing how we think about and work with very high-risk young people. We imagine a world we where every young person is valued, supported, and has a chance to live self-sufficiently and out of harm’s way.

Roca’s tag line, “be the change,” expresses our deep commitment to behaving, working, and living in a way that expresses what we want to see in the world—justice, peace, love, respect, and responsibility. Being the change means we need to act as if the change we most want already exists—it means shifting our energy, thoughts, feelings, and actions so that we can individually and collectively change the world in which we live.
